New Patient?

Are you new to our clinic and wondering how everything works around here? Well, look no further, because this post will fill you in on everything you need to know.

For your first visit please look over our New Patient Packet. It contains our Welcome Letter with information on what to expect at your first appointment, and our Health History and Registration form. If you like, you can complete your paperwork and bring it with you to your first appointment, or you can just arrive about 10 minutes early for your first visit and fill out your paperwork at the clinic.

Please note that there is a one-time additional $10 fee on the first visit.

Scheduling an appointment:

The quickest and easiest way to get an appointment is to schedule online. The service is easy to use and frees up time for us to give more acupuncture treatments. If you’d prefer to call that is fine, but please make sure you leave a message. We do our best to answer the phone every time, but when we’re busy sometimes it just doesn’t happen.

On your first visit:

When you come in, you’ll be greeted at the front by our receptionist who will get you checked in and direct you to your seat. Once you’re seated go ahead and take your shoes and socks off, put your feet up and roll your pants up to the knees. Your acupuncturist will be with you shortly. Treatment generally consists of a brief interview to assess the issues you’re wanting to address, then needles are put in and you take a nap for a little while. Needles are pulled whenever you’re ready or at the 1 hour mark, whichever comes first. We’ll usually let you know when we want to see you back, and answer any other quick questions you may have. After that you’ll pay at the front desk and schedule your next few appointments.

A few suggestions…

  • We realize your time is valuable.  Therefore, we ask that you make every effort to arrive on time for your first appointment.  If you are more than 20 minutes late for your first appointment, we may need to reschedule it.
  • Please do not wear any perfume, cologne or scented lotions. Many of our patients are sensitive to smells.
  • Plan to be at the clinic for about 60 minutes. Follow up treatments may not take as long.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing with sleeves that can be rolled up to the elbows and pants that can be rolled up to the knees.
  • The treatment room has soft, soothing music playing, but please bring earplugs or headphones if you prefer. Snoring happens occasionally, as well as quiet talking. If you know you’re easily disturbed by sounds when relaxing, please bring earplugs or headphones. We will often have earplugs available, just ask if you need some.
  • Please eat a little something beforehand. Acupuncture is not recommended on an empty stomach.
  • You can exercise after acupuncture, but you may be more relaxed than usual afterwards, so we don’t recommend doing anything that’s pushing the limits of your normal performance. A workout you regularly do is fine, maxing out on your dead lift should probably wait till another day.

How to find us:

We are located across US-41 from Barnes and Noble, in the same building as the Red Cross. We’re right at the top of the stairs, so if you take the elevator just turn right and we’re just on the end in unit 206. For directions, just plug your address into the map below. Thanks, and we can’t wait to meet you!
